Luxury shoe brand Sam Edelman, as reported by Women’s Wear Daily, is launching a clothing line. Rejoice! So what’s the deal? Sam Edelman will be launching their debut sportswear collection for women and girls in February 2014.
Brown Shoe Co., which currently owns the footwear label, just signed an agreement with Kellwood Co. to manufacture their first clothing line. The tops, sweaters, jackets, bottoms and dresses will have a similar aesthetic to Sam Edelman footwear, which launched in 2004.
“The goal has always been to dress the ‘Sam Girl’ head to toe in my designs, and now it’s a reality,” says Edelman, founder and president of Sam Edelman, told WWD. “Adding apparel closes the gap in making Sam Edelman a complete lifestyle brand.”
The designer also hopes to expand his collection into jewelry, beauty and handbags. Edelman’s 2014 collection will debut in America before debuting internationally, and will be available to buy at existing Sam Edelman stockists and, of course, on their own website!
